Boys try out the unicycle

This was so funny to watch. Scott brought his unicycle down and all the boys wanted to ride it. They all thought is was as easy as it looks. So Jake (the natural born athlete) hops on and biffs it. He then suggested they maybe should go out back on the grass. Joey and Stevie came out to join. This first picture is of Scott trying to coach Jake while Stevie and Joey watch. Then Stevie had a try at it. No luck. He totally biffs it too. Joey wanted to try it and he too could barely get on the thing. All of them were bound and determined to suceed. So they tried to hold on to each other until they got the hang of it. Nope, no such luck. In the background of the one picture you can see Dace with a nerf football. He threw it and it hit Joey and made him fall off and Stevie gets a good laugh out of it. Just after I took the picture of Joey on Scotts back, they crashed and Joey went flying off. It was a really fun to watch.

A Cruising We Will Go!

Ryan and I leave tomorrow on a 4-night cruise. We are really excited. Vern and Sheriee will have the girls, which works out perfectly. Channing is still confused about the whole idea of us sleeping, eating, and playing in the pool on a big boat. The only boat she has been on is the boat at the lake house, so there is a little difference in size that she still can't fathom. She keeps asking questions like...Where are you going to sleep? Do they have plates, cups, and spoons and forks for you to eat with? And most importantly, Will they have snacks for you guys?
We can't wait for all the delicious food and snacks they will have for us.
Stay tuned for cruise pictures next week.

The Importance of Family

Our lesson yesterday in Young Women's was about the importance of the family unit. It made me reflect on our family unit and how grateful I am to be part of it. We were raised by loving parents who have strong testimonies of the gospel and have always taught us to choose the right. They instilled in us the importance of loving each other and being supportive of one another, and the importance of staying close as siblings. We have all been through different trials at different times in our lives and I think we can all say that the strength we have felt from family members praying for us, fasting for us, and unconditionally loving us has buoyed us up.
That being said, I feel that there is one of our family members that REALLY needs to know that we care, that we are thinking about him, and that we haven't forgotten him, Jesse. He is at a point in his life where our communication with him is critical. He needs to know that he is part of the strong family unit that we have. I'm sure he often feels depressed and alone and wonders about all of us. Let's let him know we are here for him. If you haven't written him lately it only takes a few minutes to sit down and write a short letter.
His address is:
Jesse Stream #40732

Central Utah Correctional Facility
P.O. Box 550

Elder M. Russell Ballard said this,
"Crisis or transition of any kind reminds us of what matters most. In the routine of life, we often take our families—our parents and children and siblings—for granted. But in times of danger and need and change, there is no question that what we care about most is our families! It will be even more so when we leave this life and enter into the spirit world. Surely the first people we will seek to find there will be father, mother, spouse, children, and siblings."

I love you all and love being a part of this family.

Where are we....Kansas?

Well we were narrowly missed by a tornado last night that hit downtown Atlanta pretty hard.  With Kevin being gone, I was scared to death.  It moved east instead of south, so we did not get hit.  It happened around 9:30 and I was glued to the television until around 1:00 a.m.  I just knew that the minute I closed my eyes they would issue a tornado warning for our area.  Anyway, we are all okay, there were injuries up north but no deaths.  They are supposed to be more storms on their way this afternoon.  Kevin doesn't get back into town until tomorrow night so we are on our own for 2 more days!  Yikes!  I will keep you posted.

YYYEEEAAHHH!!

So, I have a new calling!  I have been called to be the 1st counselor in the YW presidency!  I am really excited but a little nervous because they have not found anyone to backfill my current three callings.  I will be doing all of it for a little while.  However, I am excited to see a light at the end of the tunnel as far as "ward music lady" is concerned.  I am going to be over the miamaid class which consists of 8 girls.  They are all active which is a blessing.  I am thrilled I am going to have a whole panel of people to get ideas from (that means all of you reading this)!  I am going to be responsible mainly for the activity side of things, so I am going to need lost of ideas.  -Tiff
